What if I don’t subscribe to SchoolSeek? Will my school be represented?
Yes, your school will be represented but there will be a limited amount of information available. Subscribers are able to provide detailed information including regular updates.

Is there any competition to SchoolSeek?
The SchoolSeek platform is unique and offers selection criteria and information to potential parents/students far beyond what a printed magazine can offer. Being web based, it can be quickly updated and superior ease of use.

How will the site be promoted?
This information is detailed in the Introduction letter.

Is the site being accessed by parents now?
The site received over 2000 hits from Google searches alone during March 2005.

What guarantee do I have that the SchoolSeek business model is sustainable?
The founders of SchoolSeek have invested a significant amount of time and capital to get the business to its current position. Our goal is to offer the service on a National basis. As parents ourselves, we understand the value that SchoolSeek will provide parents/students and believe that this business model is sustainable. Our initial response from our beta schools has been an overwhelming endorsement of the SchoolSeek concept

What is the subscription charge?
The subscription charge is a per annum charge based on the 3 tier government funding status. The maximum charge is $5,000 per year for Tier 1 schools.

How do I update my schools details on whichschool? Whichschool will provide an automatic quarterly update service to enable the school to change/add information to the site.

Why should my school offer a discount or promotion offer for new students that join my school because of SchoolSeek?
We believe a token promotion or discount offered by the schools will enhance the value to the parent of SchoolSeek AND those schools that are supporters of SchoolSeek will benefit from the increased market acceptance of SchoolSeek.

How do I know how many potential opportunities have been generated by SchoolSeek?
SchoolSeek will provide a quarterly report on request that details number of hits of SchoolSeek and hyperlinks or direct email links to your particular school.

Will you provide a listing of schools that have subscribed to the service?
No, this information will be kept confidential between SchoolSeek and the school.

My school would like to get more involved above just a basic subscription? Will you accommodate alternatives?
SchoolSeek needs to maintain its independence to offer the true value proposition to both the user and the school. We just cannot favour one school over another but recommend that if your school wishes to have a higher profile on the site, that you pay special attention to providing the correct detail for the website and provide offers/incentives for users that are steered to your school.

We want to promote our school interstate and overseas – how will SchoolSeek help here?
There is no question that by providing a web interface, your schools value proposition will be more easily accessible to outside interest regions. Additionally, SchoolSeek will be the number 1 hit for all prospects who enter the fields “private schools NSW” into the google search engine.

Parents

Will parents need to subscribe to SchoolSeek to obtain the information?
  • a. No, but there will be a prompt to enter their details should they wish to download any information from the site
  • b. Yes, if they wish to subscribe to the scholarship update bulletins.

Will parents information be passed onto the schools?
No, all information will be regulated as per the Information Privacy Laws. This policy is detailed on the website.

If I wish to contact a school direct can I do so?
Of course, but you would not be entitled to claim the discount promotion offered by that school. Contacting the school (and subsequent application or student acceptance to the school) via the whichschool link will register you correctly

Is SchoolSeek truly independent?
Yes, we do not promote one school over the other but allow the parent/student to select the information and schools that meets their needs. Whilst all independent and private schools in NSW will be represented on SchoolSeek, only those schools that have subscribed to SchoolSeek will be given the opportunity to provide detail of their school

Why will parents go to SchoolSeek?
It is a unique independent service that offers web ease of use. It is continuously updated and offers parents and students flexibility.

I am very interested in a schools academic performance in my sons/daughter area of expertise – will this information be available?
Academic records are protected by government legislation however SchoolSeek will offer schools an opportunity to detail their academic performance in a specific academic section.

I would be very interested in receiving the scholarship newsletter – how can I get this?
This will be available in Phase 2 of the commercialisation and will be accessible on a subscription basis. Please continue to check the website and we will announce the launch of this service when available.
